A ConstructConnect alternative for scope, subcontractors and proof of work
ConstructConnect and ScopeMark address different parts of the workflow. ConstructConnect helps you find projects, take off and estimate. ScopeMark starts once you have an RFP or a job: reading the documents, drafting the scope, subbing out and proving the work.

Why people look for an alternative to ConstructConnect
These are the situations where ScopeMark is worth a look. They describe a fit, not a flaw in ConstructConnect.
You already have the work
You do not need leads. You need to understand an RFP you received and turn it into a scope and bids.
You want an invite-only roster
You sub out to people you trust rather than inviting an open pool.
You need proof after the award
You want milestones with photos, change orders and an invoice trail once work starts.
You want Canadian compliance built in
Insurance, WSIB, WCB or CNESST documents tracked per company and per province.
What ConstructConnect is good at
ConstructConnect describes itself as a preconstruction platform. Its public pages list project data and leads (Project Intelligence, Intelligent Leads), a large database of commercial bid opportunities, takeoff and estimating tools (including cloud and AI-assisted takeoff that pulls counts, lengths and areas from plans), and SmartBid for sending invitations to bid and managing subcontractors.
How ScopeMark is different
- It starts from the RFP itself. AI reads the documents, every finding names its page, and a count check flags when documents disagree.
- Subbing out is invite-only. There is no open job board, and a subcontractor must accept before anything is shared.
- It is built for Canadian trades. Insurance, WSIB, WCB and CNESST document rules, and GST/HST in estimates.
- Two kinds of trust, kept apart. ScopeMark Verified (is the document real and current) and Company Approved (does it meet our bar).
- No money moves. One invoice per confirmed milestone, paid by the buyer directly, with a REST API for your ERP.
ScopeMark is narrower on purpose. It is not a full field, safety and financial suite.

| Takeoff from drawings | A person draws a box around one symbol and the computer finds matching symbols; a person confirms | Cloud and AI-assisted takeoff that measures plans |
| Subcontractor bidding | Invite-only roster with consent, reminders and like-for-like bid leveling | Invitations to bid and subcontractor management (SmartBid) |
| After the award | Milestones with photo and GPS proof, change orders, one automatic invoice per confirmed milestone | Preconstruction focus |

Who should stay with ConstructConnect, and who should look at ScopeMark
Stay with ConstructConnect if…
Your priority is finding projects to bid and measuring quantities from drawings with dedicated takeoff and estimating software. ScopeMark does not sell leads and is not a full takeoff product.
Look at ScopeMark if…
You already have the RFP or the job and need to understand it, scope it, sub it out to people you trust and prove the work through to the invoice. The two can sit side by side.
Switching or starting alongside
- No data import. ScopeMark does not import projects from ConstructConnect. Start with your next RFP or job.
- Keep your record where it is. Your existing system can stay the record for work already under way. ScopeMark's REST API lets an ERP or accounting system pull invoices and report payments back.
- Invite your subcontractors. They accept your invitation, upload their documents once and bid from the mobile app. Nothing is shared with a company until they accept.
- Pricing. ScopeMark is a monthly subscription with plans matched to team size and AI features. We do not compare prices here because they change and depend on the deal. Ask each vendor for a current quote.
Questions people ask
Is ScopeMark a replacement for ConstructConnect?
No. ConstructConnect is known for finding projects to bid, takeoff and estimating. ScopeMark does not sell project leads or measure takeoff from drawings at ConstructConnect's depth. It starts once you have an RFP or a job.
Does ScopeMark find projects to bid on?
No. ScopeMark has no project database, sells no leads and has no open job board. You bring the RFP or the job.
Can ScopeMark count devices from drawings?
In part. A person draws a box around one symbol and ScopeMark finds matching symbols on the sheet using image matching, not AI. The estimator removes wrong matches, adds missed ones and saves. It is not a full takeoff product.
Can ScopeMark be used alongside a larger system?
Yes. ScopeMark's REST API lets an ERP or accounting system pull invoices and report payments back, and many companies would use ScopeMark for the RFP-to-subcontractor part of the job while another system remains their record for the rest.
Does ScopeMark hold or move our money?
No. ScopeMark does not process payments between companies and subcontractors. The buyer pays directly, outside ScopeMark, and records the payment. ScopeMark's only revenue is its subscription.
