ScopeMark for subcontractors: free when a company invites you
ScopeMark is free for subcontractors invited by a company they work with. You see only the companies that invited you, bid against a clear scope, prove each milestone with photos, and get an invoice when it is confirmed. The company pays you directly, because ScopeMark moves no money.
The short version
If a company you work with uses ScopeMark, it can invite you. You accept, and you see the work that company puts to you: the scope, what the bid must state, the milestones, the tasks and the invoices. You use ScopeMark free. There is no open job board, so you see only the companies that invited you. And ScopeMark moves no money: the company pays you directly, using the details you saved.
How you get in
- 1
A company invites you
The company adds you to its roster and you get an email with a private invitation link. If you already have an account, you are told in the app instead. The link works for 14 days, and the company can send a new one.
- 2
You choose whether to accept
Until you accept, the company can see almost nothing about you, and you see nothing of theirs. Accepting is what lets that company see your documents and company profile and invite you to bid. You can decline, and nothing is charged either way.
- 3
You see that company's work
You see a job only when the company that posted it invited you. A job put to its whole roster is visible to everyone on that roster who accepted. A closed job is visible only to the subcontractors it was sent to.
What you do in the app
- Bid with a clear scope. The company can add a list of items every bidder must answer, Included or Not included, and you can say how long your price holds, how soon you can start and how long the work takes. You cannot leave an item unanswered, which keeps bids comparable. Until the company decides, you can withdraw a bid you sent. See bid leveling.
- Prove the work. Check in on site, write a daily log, and submit each milestone with photos. The company confirms or disputes it, and you can add notes to a milestone.
- Work through tasks. If the job is broken into tasks, such as one per door or device, your crew ticks them off, with a photo when one is required, and anyone can report an issue with a note and a photo.
- Raise a change order. If the work changes, send a change order with the reason, the extra cost and the extra days. The company approves or declines it. See change orders and scope creep.
- Track your invoices. When the company confirms a milestone, an invoice for it is raised automatically. You can see what is issued, overdue and paid.
- Store your payout details. Save an Interac e-Transfer address, a direct deposit or a wire so the company can pay you directly. Only the company that has awarded you work or holds an invoice from you can see them.
- Share your history. Add a company profile and past projects with photos. It is your own description and ScopeMark checks none of it.
- Run your crew. Add your crew and assign them to the jobs you hold. Assigned people can submit milestones, check in and post notes, and nothing else.
Your paperwork
Upload your insurance, your WSIB or CNESST clearance, your trade licences and other certificates, each with its expiry date. ScopeMark checks that each paper is authentic and current. That is not an approval. Each company you work with decides for itself whether your papers meet its bar for its sites, so two companies can decide differently about the same document. If you replace a document, the companies' earlier decisions about the old one are cleared, and they decide again. See subcontractor compliance and WSIB clearance certificates.
What the company can and cannot see
- A company sees your documents, company profile and past projects only after you accept its invitation. A company you send a bid to can see your company profile and past projects.
- It sees your payout details only once it has awarded you work or holds an invoice from you, and only its owners, project managers and office admins can see them.
- It can see the first time you opened a job it put to you. ScopeMark records that one time and nothing else about how you use the app.
- A company can send a reminder to bid, at most one in 24 hours and three in all. You can switch these reminders off in your notification settings.
- Invoices, document deadlines and account security notices cannot be switched off. You can switch off the rest, one channel at a time.
Two ways to use ScopeMark as a subcontractor
Free, by invitation. You use the mobile app for the companies that invite you: invitations, bids, milestones, invoices and payout details.
Provider Pro, on the web. If you also run your own projects for your own customers, Provider Pro adds the web dashboard. You can write a scope with the AI scope builder, track your own projects and milestones, send your customers progress updates, invoice them and record their payments, and give a customer a private link to follow the job. The AI drafts, and you read, edit and send. A Provider Pro still cannot post jobs for bids, because that stays with companies that hire. You sign up for it on the web, and the price is shown there when you do.
If you are a crew member or technician employed by a company, you work the jobs that company assigns you. You do not bid and you do not see the money, because your company handles that.
What ScopeMark does not do
- It does not find you work. There is no marketplace and no lead list. Work comes from companies that invite you.
- It does not hold or send your money. The company pays you directly and records that it did.
- It does not vouch for you. It checks your papers, and each company decides whether to work with you.

Questions people ask
Do I have to pay to use ScopeMark?
No. Subcontractors use ScopeMark free, by invitation from a company they work with. Provider Pro is a paid plan for a subcontractor who also wants the web dashboard to run their own projects for their own customers.
Can I find new work on ScopeMark?
No. There is no open job board. You see a job only when a company that invited you puts it to you, so work comes from the companies you already work with.
Who can see my documents and bank details?
A company sees your documents only after you accept its invitation. It sees your company profile and past projects once you accept or send it a bid. It sees your payout details only once it has awarded you work or holds an invoice from you, and then only its owners, project managers and office admins. Other companies see none of it.
How do I get paid?
The company pays you directly, outside ScopeMark, using the payout details you saved. When the company confirms a milestone, an invoice for it is raised automatically, and the company records the payment when it has paid you.
What does ScopeMark check about my documents?
ScopeMark checks that an uploaded paper is authentic and current. It does not approve you. Each company decides whether your papers meet its own bar, and two companies can decide differently about the same document.
What is Provider Pro?
Provider Pro is a paid plan for a subcontractor who also runs projects for their own customers. It adds the web dashboard, the AI scope builder, customer progress updates and customer invoices. It does not let you post jobs for bids.
Does ScopeMark hold or move our money?
No. ScopeMark does not process payments between companies and subcontractors. The buyer pays directly, outside ScopeMark, and records the payment. ScopeMark's only revenue is its subscription.
